Country First Kicks-off Country First Unify Challenge

WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Country First will partner with Unify America, a cross-partisan nonprofit on a mission to build problem-solving and civics skills, for the Unify Challenge set for today, Tuesday, April 5th at 1pm ET and Thursday, April 7th at 8pm ET. Designed as an innovative way to deal with increased divisions and respectfully share perspectives across differences, the Unify Challenge is a live, one-on-one online conversation between two individuals who may live across the country from one another and/or have a different outlook on issues.
To kick-off the event this week, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) shared the following video message:

As the Congressman mentioned, here’s how it works: During registration, participants answer a few questions about their background. Based on these responses, Unify America will match participants across differences to ensure productive, respectful conversations designed to find common ground. On the date of the Challenge, the pairs join a face-to-face online platform and follow a conversation guide with 26 different goals for America with topics ranging from free speech and criminal justice to immigration and education. Live support hosts are available if needed and each conversation takes about an hour.

Anyone 18 and older who lives in the United States is welcome to participate in the Country First Unify Challenge. Those interested in participating can sign up by visiting our website here.

Country First is proud to partner with Unify America in our mission to defeat the toxic tribalism plaguing our society with open and honest dialogue, a good-faith effort to listen, and a commonsense approach to the problems we face. Country First looks forward to hosting more of these conversations in the future, as well as taking part in other events that aim to remove the partisan politics and instead, put country first.
